Hop Farm to hold Gig for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK

90th Birthday Tea Party 7!

The Hop Farm is to host a new musical extravaganza entitled Gig For Life to raise money for the charity Cancer Research UK.

The one-day concert will be staged at the venue near Paddock Wood on the Bank Holiday on May 27 next year, and early-bird tickets will be available at a discount.

All funds raised on the day will go directly to Cancer Research UK, which has been nominated as the Hop Farm’s charity of the year for 2017.

There will be eight bands, including headline rockers Toploader and funk ensemble PB Underground. Four of the acts will be from the local area.

Gerry Diebel of organisers Amber Creative Ltd said: “Cancer has touched us all in one way or another, but it is not always about loss and sadness.

“It is also about celebrating life, shouting about the success stories, and recognising all of the unsung heroes that help, care and nurse family members and friends to recovery.

“Gig For Life is a party and it is about having fun,” he added. “And it’s a concept that we very much hope will grow.”

Amber hope this will be the first of many regional events, showcasing the national charity but also involving local Cancer Research UK volunteers.
