Hub provides workspace

Baldwins Holiday Inspirations Salomons 2

March will see the opening of Tunbridge Wells’ new Creative Hub in Monson Road, which is designed as a shared workspace for individuals, micro-businesses and start-ups.

Locals were invited to a preview of the stripped down building where plans were on display to show how it would look when finished.

“It is something people in the town have wanted for a long time,” agreed Mike Goode of Hop House Design and Dave Barnett of Tunbridge Wells Events.

Showing visitors round the building were project managers Dominic Johnson, Simon McArdle, Ian Elwick and Martin Bouette of Workspace Collaborations Ltd as well as David Candlin, Hilary Smith and Hemant Amin from Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s Economic Development department. Lucy Keeley and Tony Witton from Kent County Council’s Arts and Regeneration team were also present.

The site formerly housed the Citizens Advice Bureau, and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, who own the property, hope it will also attract new creative industries and ideas to the town.
