Crowds flocked to get their skates on as Calverley Grounds was transformed into a winter wonderland.
Although the launch of the Tunbridge Wells ice rink was cancelled owing to the unseasonably mild weather, which prevented the surface from freezing properly, the temperature plummeted on Friday, allowing a full weekend’s skating.
Families took advantage of the cold, tucking into a range of local food and drink and queuing to meet Father Christmas as well as taking to the ice.
A spokesman for the rink said: “The weather was chilly but bright and the rink looked fantastic. The atmosphere was lovely with lots of families and young people enjoying themselves.
“The number of skaters over the weekend was good and advanced bookings are doing well.”
