Pupils and staff at Independent school Kent College, at Pembury, are celebrating after both the Senior and Prep Schools won exceptional praise across all areas in their latest Independent Schools Inspectorate report.

With the last report issued six years ago, it is a particular triumph for former headmistress Mrs Sally-Anne Huang, who left after eight years last summer.

New head Julie Lodrick, who arrived at the beginning of this term, was particuarly pleased with the following comments from the inspectors, who visited in December, before she took up her post.

Regarding the Senior School they said: “Pupils demonstrate excellent levels of knowledge, skills and understanding in all subject areas.” And of the Prep School: “Relationships between staff and pupils are exceptionally strong.”

“On behalf of the girls and staff at Kent College, we are exceptionally proud of this result and feel that it demonstrates the high standards, hard work and success that takes place every day,” says Ms Lodrick. “To be ‘excellent in all areas’ demonstrates the dynamic and forward-thinking school we are.

“We are not content to rest on our laurels.

We are inspired to work even harder to be the very best we can be as a school and continue to provide an outstanding education.”
