Knight Frank, Sevenoaks are proud to sponsor the Sevenoaks Triathlon again, one of the first of the season, which is taking place during the morning of Sunday 17th April.
Starting with an early morning 400 metre swim at the Sevenoaks Leisure Centre, the athletes then embark on a challenging bike ride extending 25km through the beautiful, but hilly Kentish countryside, east of Sevenoaks. An 8.4km run through the stunning Knole Park completes the event.
Last year Thomas Wade, a Knight Frank employee, won the event in an excellent time of 1hr 17mins and 44 secs which he is hoping to improve upon when he  returns to defend his title. He is to be accompanied by three other colleagues, Edward Rook, Tilly Wilson and Kate Horton who are bravely competing in the race being organised by the Sevenoaks Tri-Club.
This ever-popular event, where the places sell out within hours of entries opening, has now been running for the last 30 years. Martin Brown, race director provided a bit of historical context:
“On 7th July 1985 117 people gathered at the new Sevenoaks Leisure Centre to take part in the first Sevenoaks Triathlon. Fast forward to 19th April 2015 when the 41st race took place with 385 competitors. There were three competitors that raced in 1985 who were also here again in 2015!”Â
As well as attracting many first time competitors the 7oaks triathlon has a special medal for those that complete 10 races: the so called Evergreens, who come back year after. George Berry, the office head, will be in attendance to present the Knight Frank trophies to the fastest local male and female. We wish every competitor enjoyment and success.
