Thousands of pounds were raised by 108 walkers who took part in the Tonbridge Lions 35th annual charity walk on Sunday.
The walkers could choose a five-mile or ten-mile walk, starting and ending at Shipbourne Village Hall and also decide which organisation they wanted their sponsorship money to go to.
Among those that benefited from the event were The Bridge Trust, The Counselling Centre, Kent West Dyslexic Association, Age UK, Hospice in the Weald and Compaid as well as local bowls clubs, the Scouts’ band and Tonbridge Army Cadets.
Ten of the Lions members’ ladies and friends walked and raised funds in aid of Leybourne Grange Riding Centre for the Disabled.
James Lark, President of Tonbridge Lions Club, and his wife Jill presented each walker with a certificate.
The Lions’ event chairman, Pete Davis, said: ‘We are extremely pleased with the way the day went, the weather was good and it was great to see so many taking part, raising money for their chosen charities and enjoying our wonderful countryside.”
