These continue the school’s strong record of achievement since moving to an exclusively IB Diploma Sixth Form seven years ago.
A TGS spokesperson told the Times: “The students study an academically rigorous programme designed to develop critical thinking skills and create breadth of experience and knowledge; whilst at the same time preparing them for both higher education and the world of work.”
The average IB point score awarded to Tonbridge Grammar School students was 36 which was well above the 2018 UK average score of 34 and the 2018 global average score of 30 points. Thirty six per cent of TGS students scored 39 points and above (equivalent to in excess of 4 A* at A Level) while three scored an impressive 44 points.
