Man charged after Tunbridge Wells town centre stabbing

A MAN has been taken to a London hospital for treatment after being stabbed in Tunbridge Wells on Saturday [February 12].

The town centre near to Royal Victoria Place shopping centre was closed off at lunchtime following the incident in Upper Grosvenor Road.

Shoppers were kept away from the area on Saturday afternoon as a cordon was put around the Meadow Road car park and towards Goods Station Road following the attack while white-suited scenes of crime officers searched the area for evidence as

The following day (February 13) Michael Rodriguez, 21, of Warren Gardens, Hadlow was arrested and later that day the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge of attempted murder.

Mr Rodriguez was remanded after appearing before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday (February 14).

The injured man remains in hospital where his condition is described as stable.

A cordon was put in place along Upper Grosvenor Road, around the Meadow Road car park and towards Goods Station Road following the incident on Saturday.
