There was more success for Tunbridge Wells’ young gymnasts this weekend, with gold and silver medals won.
Current European champions Sam Large and Hector Kinghorn won the 11 to 16-year-old men’s category at the annual Pat Wade Classic national competition in Stoke-on Trent, narrowly beating Illya Freeman and Sammi Nassman into the silver medal position.
Annabel Jack and Rosie Lucas, a newly formed pair, ‘near-dominated’ the 11 to 16-year-old women’s competition but were put out of the running by an ‘uncharacteristic error’.
All six train at the Next Dimension Gymnastics Academy in Tunbridge Wells.
Coach Chris Rogers said: “I am extremely proud of these gymnasts and their performances.
“I am looking forward to the next few weeks as these six gymnasts will be joined by 30 others competing in the southeast regional championships and following this, selected gymnasts will be travelling to Holland to compete.”
