The death of a woman outside the Robin Hood pub in Tunbridge Wells ‘remains a mystery’, according to the coroner’s report.
Marion Bond was apparently hit by a vehicle in the car park on February 18 and died of her injuries in King’s College Hospital on March 2.
An inquest, which was opened and adjourned in Gravesend, where Ms Bond’s family live, was closed on August 24 with an open verdict.
The Senior Coroner, Roger Hatch, ruled: “It remains something of a mystery, we do not know how she came to be on the floor of the car park.
“A specialist post-mortem was constructed with the hope of something coming from it, but in reality it has not.
“Sadly, this has not led us any further forward as to why Marion Bond suffered the head injury that she did.”
CCTV footage was inconclusive because the car park was poorly lit. There was no sign of an impact with the car involved in the incident.
Coroner Hatch said: “It could have been a simple trip or a stumble, but I cannot entirely exclude that she had been run over by another vehicle.”
