MORE than £2,000 was handed over to Hospice in the Weald and Royal Tunbridge Wells in Bloom after the latter’s successful Open Gardens Scheme in June.
Six gardens in the town opened their gates to more than 300 people with plant sales and prizes providing a total of £2,037.40 for the two causes. These included 10 Birch Close, Calverley Park Crescent, 9 Royal Chase, Ivy Chimneys at 28 Mount Sion, 2 Cumberland Gardens and Halliwell Care Home. Most of the participating gardens have a connection with RTW in Bloom – the community gardening competition.
Anyone living in Tunbridge Wells who is interested in opening their garden for one day in the Open Gardens Scheme next year can contact Helen.Timms@tunbridgewells.gov.uk or on 01892 554031.
