Police operation sees 50 taxi drivers quizzed

Tunbridge Wells taxi drivers consider strike over racial and religious abuse

Multiple law enforcement agencies swooped on Tunbridge Wells railway station on Saturday afternoon carrying out spot-checks on taxi drivers to ensure they were being compliant with the terms of their licenses.

The combined operation involved the British Transport Police, Home Of? ce Immigration Enforcement and the Borough Council.

More than 50 drivers were questioned with most found to be fully compliant, although some were spoken to for minor infringements.
