Queues started forming this morning as the new Poundland store prepared to open its doors in Tunbridge Wells.
This pictures, taken by Becky Wells, show customers waiting outside as the shop got ready to launch the latest of its 540 outlets nationwide.
Poundland’s latest venture is on the corner of Grosvenor Road and Goods Station Road.
The announcement the chain was to open its Tunbridge Wells store was met with a mixed reaction locally.
But Cllr Ronen Basu said: “I have heard lots of people wanted to have this store and I’m sure they will do a very good job for their customers.”
Businessman Benjamin Dodd, 43, argued that it would have been better to have had a shop with ‘a bit more class’ in the town.
