South East Water also issued a warning as burst water pipes have already affected homes and businesses in the region.
Steve Andrews, Head of Operations at South East Water said: “Burst pipes are a very unpleasant and inconvenient problem.”
He said measures can be taken to protect pipes and taps by lagging them with free insulation kits and tap protectors available from their website or by buying industry approved lagging from DIY stores.
