RHONA MOODY from Tunbridge Wells is set to represent Britain at the 15th World Scout Moot in Iceland.
The international event is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for 5,000 Scouts aged 18 to 25 to gather together from 80 countries around the globe.
The Moot will be held in the dramatic landscape of Iceland from July 25 to August 2. The UK contingent will be taking over 500 participants to embark on nine days of adventure, fun and discovery.
The young people will stay at the National Scout Centre at the stunning Lake Ulfljotsvatn, and will visit Geysir and the stunning waterfalls of Gullfoss.
They will also try glacier walking, hiking, working in international patrols and learning about different cultures and customs.
Rhona said: “I am so looking forward to visiting Iceland. It is a country on my wishlist, and this is my first international scouting trip.
“I am looking forward to meeting up with old friends and also meeting Scouts from loads of different countries.”
Chief Scout Bear Grylls said:Â “I have filmed many times in Iceland and it is an incredible place to adventure and develop new skills that you can use throughout the rest of your life. It’s also a place that tests what you are made of.”
The theme of the Moot is ‘change’, and all UK travellers will ’embrace change on their journey to the Moot, whether this is in their own lives or their local community’.
