After months of uncertainty surrounding the return of the Calverley Ground’s Christmas ice rink, organisers have confirmed that they have received planning permission for the next two years.
Now in its seventh year, the popular attraction has previously drawn in 39,000 skaters over the six weeks it’s open.
Councillor Jane March, Cabinet member with responsibility for Tourism, Leisure and Economic Development said: “I am delighted to say that the planning application for the ice rink was approved by the planning committee for a further two years. It’s far too early for most of us to be thinking about winter but this means the ice rink team can begin their preparations.”
