A LOCAL pub is offering Macmillan nurses in Tunbridge Wells a free meal every Sunday in May to thank them for their hard work.
As part of its Macmillan May fundraising drive, the Robin Hood Hungry Horse pub on Sandhurst Road is inviting all Macmillan Cancer Support nurses to enjoy dishes from its Pub Faves menu.
May also marks International Nurses’ Day this Friday (May 12), the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth, so it’s a special month for nurses around the world.
Stephen Edwards, General Manager at the Robin Hood, said: “Macmillan nurses work tirelessly to support people with cancer, and their care makes such a difference in the local community.
“May is a key month for nurses, both in the UK and internationally, so we decided to mark our Macmillan May fundraising drive and celebrate their hard work.”
Since 2012 Greene King team members and guests have raised over £2.9million through the charity partnership with Macmillan.
Rachel Gascoigne, Partnership Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “Our nurses and other professionals work hard to help people affected by cancer, not just with medical support, but also providing much needed emotional and practical support, so it’s wonderful to see their work recognised on International Nurses’ Day.
