Royal Tunbridge Wells Round Table raised the money from their 61st annual fireworks event at Dunorlan Park.
The group generated a similar amount of money at last year’s event, and good causes that benefitted included the Mayor’s Toy Charity, Nourish Foodbank, The Bridge Trust, Tunbridge Wells Mental Health Hub as well as several individuals suffering from debilitating health issues.
The head of the association’s Fireworks Committee, Simon Addis, said: “The public turned out in droves to support our 61st display, meaning we’re in a privileged position of being able to give something back to the local community.
“All proceeds from our Dunorlan fireworks event are distributed to various causes.
“We would urge anyone in need of funding within our community to apply, whether you are an individual or part of a larger organisation. The more worthy causes we can support, the better.”
He added that applications can be made online at: www.rtwrt.org, before February 20 and applicants will be notified if they have been successful ahead of a presentation in March when the town’s mayor will be handing out the cheques.
