Round Table's fireworks fund helps 42 local worthy causes

THE Royal Tunbridge Wells Round Table donated more than £30,000 to 42 different causes out of the proceeds of the Dunorlan Park fireworks last year.

The show is the largest event in the town’s calendar, and all the money raised is distributed to local charities or individuals who apply to the Round Table.

The beneficiaries included community support groups, adult and children’s health services, youth development and some individuals in need.

Rob Butcher, Head of the Round Table’s local Charity Committee, said: “We’d like to thank the Mayor, Buss Murton and TS Brilliant for their support of our giveaway event, but particular recognition is due to all those who continue to do great work in our community.

“It’s a privilege that we are able to support them in this way. The 2017 Dunorlan Fireworks will be the event’s 60th year and we hope that Tunbridge Wells will once again join us to support some great local causes.”

The RTW Round Table Chairman, Daldeep Jaswal, added: “The people of Tunbridge Wells and beyond continue to amaze us by turning up in their droves to our fireworks event each year.

“Without their support, we wouldn’t be able to provide support to the many charities and good causes that need our help.
