A Kent Police sergeant has kept his job after he exchanged sexually explicit text messages with an applicant he met in Tunbridge Wells.
Ross Shearing, 39, visited the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, at her home in 2016 for a routine interview to discuss a role.
The applicant was said to have complimented the sergeant on his aftershave and the pair exchanged sexual messages over two days before deleting them.
Further messages were sent in November 2016 and February 2017, but these were also deleted.
Kent Police gave Sgt Shearing, who is married, a final warning at a hearing in Maidstone last week, but decided against dismissing him.
