Chamberlain Court Care Home on Mount Ephraim is hosting Songs & Smiles every Tuesday for children up to four years old with the not-for-profit social enterprise The Together Project.
The free hour-long sessions are designed to reduce loneliness, improve wellbeing and tackle ageism. Songs & Smiles aims to engage young and old through singing, movement, instruments, coloured scarves and bubbles.
Chamberlain’s Suzanne Goodman said: “We are delighted to be hosting a weekly Songs & Smiles activity as we know that intergenerational activities can help to improve both the residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing.
The founder of The Together Project, Louise Goulden, said: “Our first session at Chamberlain Court was such a wonderful experience.
“To see the residents and children enjoying each other’s company, all with huge smiles on their faces, was beautiful to watch.”
