Southeastern Rail will be running a full service on Monday morning, following Amber and Yellow National Severe Weather Warnings for snow in many parts of the South East from the Met Office this week.
In light of the ‘bitterly cold’ conditions, Southeastern is planning a full service on Monday, but advising passengers to check before they travel, particularly for evening journeys, as snowfall is forecast for 6pm, which may potentially disrupt services as a result.
A spokesperson for Southeastern said: “We are working closely with Network Rail to keep the rail network open, and will be running a full service on Monday morning.
“With heavier snow expected from 18:00 on Monday, services may be disrupted. We advise passengers to check before they travel and allow additional time for journeys. If possible, passengers may wish to re-time evening journeys to avoid the peak hour.”
Starting with some light snow on Monday, the snow showers are set to become much more widespread on Tuesday and Wednesday, with some areas likely to reach five to 10cm during the start of the week, and further snow expected on Thursday and Friday.
