Thanking hospice for Caroline's care

MEMBERS of Trinity Theatre Club have visited Hospice in the Weald to present a cheque for £500.

The donation was raised at a raffle the amateur dramatic society held at their 70th anniversary dinner last October to thank the hospice for the care they gave their late President, Caroline Elliott.

Mrs Elliott, who was one of the founders of Trinity Theatre, and who died at the age of 84 on May 28 last year, was one of the leading lights
of the town’s amateur dramatics – both as actor and director.

She and her husband, actor Michael Elliott, were described as the ‘backbone’ of the theatre.

She was also Box Office Manager for more than three decades, from the arts centre’s opening night on.

In 2011, Mrs Elliott was awarded the MBE for her services to theatre in the town.
