Next week Trinity Art Gallery is hosting The Forum: 25 Years and Beyond, with photos, gig posters and band memorabilia from over the years on display.

More than 35,000 are estimated to have performed on the stage, which has also become a home for art, comedy and theatre since January 1993.

Adele, Ellie Goulding, Coldplay, Muse, Green Day, Oasis and Feeder are among the big names to have performed at The Forum, which is at The Common.

The free exhibition will be held from Tuesday [September 18] and will continue up to Sunday [September 23] from 10am to 3pm.

Venue owner Jason Dormon helped establish The Forum in 1993 and said the exhibition is dedicated to the staff, gig-goers and musicians who have come together to keep the venue thriving.

He said: “We’ve built a family, a holy trinity … of music fans, passionate volunteers and talented artists. We can all be proud of the community we have created.”

Celebrations have been held throughout the year, with Frank Turner and Pale Waves playing special shows earlier in 2018. A compilation CD, also called 25 Years and Beyond, was released in March on The Forum’s own Unlabel, featuring local artists.

Isobel Dormon, Forum promoter, said: “I didn’t want the anniversary to be just nostalgia, but to also look towards the next 25 years.

“A compilation album featuring the exciting, emerging artists who play at The Forum regularly now, and who will go on to do more in the future, was the perfect way to celebrate the next 25 years too.

“We’re looking forward to more new music and experiences that you could not get anywhere else but at a small grassroots venue.”
