The Pantiles Vintage Fair rolls into Tunbridge Wells’ historic Pantiles area this Saturday and with it comes a good old glamorous dose of cool clothing, retro accessories and one-off gems.
Whether you’re buying for yourself, for your home or a seeking a gift for a family member or friend you’re bound to find something special on one of the many eye-catching stalls which include fabulous millinery creations, bespoke jewellery and fancy French linens.
The Vintage Fair is one of the longest running events on The Pantiles and takes place every year over the final weekend of July.
One of its organisers, Tara Fuller from the Bandstand Events company gave the Times a sneak peek into what visitors can expect to see when they pop along on Saturday or Sunday.
“We have a wide range of vintage and antique goods such as clothing, jewellery, crockery, books, furniture and much more,” she said.
“The Vintage Fair has a really good reputation so traders come from much further afield in order to be part of it. We also get lots of regular, local businesses coming along.”
Some of the traders pitching up and showcasing their wares include Cherish The Vintage who specialise in creating tailor made jewellery, the Kent Candle Company and Splendid Ted who are based in Seal near Sevenoaks and sell beautiful items for the home including furniture, photo frames and lighting. Other exhibitors include Elizabeth Ann Textiles and Clarence and Alabama who create gorgeous fifties inspired frocks, handbags and petticoats.
There will be plenty of tempting food and drink on offer too for when you need to take a break from browsing. You can cool off with one of Surrey Ices tempting treats or give yourself a caffeine boost courtesy of Splendid Coffee’s range of delicious drinks. Those looking for a gourmet treat won’t be disappointed thanks to the likes of food suppliers Rebecca and Rex who sell a magnificent array of regional cheese.
Tara says she hopes that the weather will be kind so the event attracts the most number of people possible.
“We’ve had a few thousand visitors in the past so hopefully we can top those numbers this year!”
