When the Times of Tunbridge Wells launched on Wednesday 4th March, it also unveiled a Dragon’s Den-style £5 million investment fund for local businesses.
Working with high net worth individuals, Kent’s newest weekly newspaper is developing an initiative to support entrepreneurs and existing businesses across Kent, Sussex and Surrey. Local entrepreneurs, start-up businesses and existing businesses that wish to expand will be able to pitch for an investment from the fund in exchange for an equity stake in their business.
The fund is aimed at helping small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) of which there are more than 5,500 in the Tunbridge Wells area alone, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
Applicants must be 18+ and operating a limited company within the boundaries of the county of Kent, Sussex or Surrey. Alongside financial help, successful applicants will receive advice and support, by way of legal, accounting and business strategy, from a network of advisers.
Closing date is September 1 2015.
Thank you for all your applications, entries are now closed for our investment fund.
