The Zee Bar has withdrawn its application to stay open until 4am on Friday and Saturday nights.
The High Street nightclub, currently restricted to a 3am closure on both evenings, also applied to serve alcohol on Wednesdays and Thursdays until 3am. Currently it can stay open on Wednesdays until 2am and Thursdays until 3am, but alcohol can only be sold on these days until 1am. Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s Licensing Sub-Committee was due to decide on Friday August 19 until the Zee Bar made a late withdrawal of its proposal.
There were 18 objections to the premises application, with concerns raised about public nuisance, crime and disorder, public safety and child protection.
