Edmund Hastie, who represents the ward of Goudhurst and Lamberhurst on Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, has been cycling on behalf of good causes in the two parishes since he was elected in 2011.
This year he raised £1,100, which allowed Goudhurst to purchase a new defibrillator while helping Lamberhurst to buy new doors for its memorial hall.
Cllr Hastie said: “I would like to single out special thanks to a number of local businesses that have donated £100 each, namely B&K electricals, Sargeants Garage and St James’s Place in Goudhurst, Victoria Stores and The Brown Trout in Lamberhurst.
“Every year these firms donate generously to various good causes which enable us all to enjoy living here that little bit more.”
He added: “It is vital that the rural areas have defibrillators as it is important that people receive any medical attention they may need in a timely manner, regardless of where they live.”
