Tunbridge Wells Council’s planning chief resigns

What the garden looked like before

Karen Fossett has resigned as Head of Planning at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, the authority has confirmed.

The Town Hall said she left around one month ago and that Stephen Baughen, previously the Planning Policy Manager, has taken her place on an interim basis. A long term successor has not yet been named.

Ms Fossett took the post in October 2016 after having previously worked at Elmbridge Borough Council.

A spokesman for Tunbridge Wells Borough Council said: ‘We don’t comment on why someone leaves the council.

‘Given that local planning authority is member led it’s not really appropriate to talk about a legacy.’

– This week a planning application was submitted to seek permission to build 49 homes at Gibbet Lane and Furnace Lane in Horsmonden.
