David Richards, of Emerald Walk, Tunbridge Wells, was arrested at 5pm on Monday, September 3 after officers were called to a shop in Calverley Road regarding a disturbance.
Kent Police said he has been charged but did not state the name of the shop in question.
Richards has been bailed to appear Sevenoaks Magistrates Court on Tuesday, September 18.
