Tunbridge Wells Pride set for 2018 return

The Mead School in Tunbridge Wells gave a professional level performance in the ISA drama contests

Another colourful display of solidarity is expected to mark the second Tunbridge Wells Pride event this Saturday [August 18].

Events to celebrate the town’s LGBTQ community will kick off with a march from the clock tower at Fiveways at 11.30am.

Hundreds are expected to join the parade as it makes its way down to The Forum, where an afternoon of entertainment has been lined up.

Jazz Alexander is organising this second event, which last year proved a huge success.

She said: ‘We like to think more people will come this year. We have more volunteers and we aim for it to be bigger and better. I’m very excited about this year.’

Performances

Musicians including Miss Luna Lestrange, DJ Kelly-Lee and DJ Phat Baz are on the bill to perform at Pride in the grounds of The Forum.

This will be followed from 7pm with more performers taking to The Forum’s inside stage, which will be transformed to look like the set singer Pink created for her Truth About Love tour.

Jazz added: ‘Everyone is welcome no matter your age, identity or orientation, family friendly of course.

‘Bring along the whole family for a fun filled day with music, dancing, colour, performances and campery.’
