Trinity Theatre and the Assembly Hall will unveil their latest joint venture on April 19
The Assembly Hall Theatre and Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells are working together on another joint initiative for the borough, develop audiences for contemporary dance events in the town and beyond.
Their inaugural collaboration is the co-presentation of Ashford-based Jasmin Vardimon’s JV2 Ensemble. Jasmin Vardimon Company created JV2 as an educational initiative aimed at the recently qualified, or those already working professionally, in order to deliver a Professional Development Certificate.
Held at Trinity on Thursday April 19 at 7.30pm, the JV2 Ensemble is a triple bill by Jasmin Vardimon, Yunkyung Song and André Rebelo. The new production celebrates the intrinsically fresh approach of two emerging choreographers, in collaboration with the vast experience of the multi-award-winning choreographer Vardimon.
Commenting on the collaboration, Trinity Theatre’s director, John Martin, said: ‘The best contemporary dance expresses the depth of discovery that dancers and choreographers go through to develop their own dance language, and communicate the joy of pure movement. Jasmin Vardimon’s company is one of the leading young ensembles, and Trinity is delighted to be partnering with Assembly Hall Theatre to bring their work to Tunbridge Wells.’
