Justin Bodle passed away at his home in the South of France. Entertainment magazine Variety is reporting that the TV executive died from a suspected brain haemorrhage.
Mr Bodle, a former member of the British army, began his TV career selling advertising before moving on to selling TV productions.
Among the most notable TV programmes he sold during his career, include The Muppet Show, which he sold to British TV along with other Jim Henson shows such as Fraggle Rock.
Creating his own TV production and distribution businesses in the Mid-1990s, Power Television was one of more than 20 companies formed by the TV executive.
His production credits include the Emmy Award-winning Henry VIII, which stared Ray Winstone, Archangel, which featured James Bond star Daniel Craig, and the US TV drama series Crusoe.
He bought Groombridge Place in 2001.
Justin Bodle is survived by his three children.
