Workers reported being delayed as a result of the incident, which happened around 6.50am on the northbound carriageway near Lamberhurst Quarter.
Two people were taken to hospital with injuries after the incident, which involved four cars.
Kent Police blocked the road, causing delays of around 45 minutes to drivers passing the village – which impacted journeys into Tunbridge Wells.
The section was closed between roundabouts at Kippings Cross and Lamberhurst.
