Two key junctions in Southborough are due to be upgraded next year, relieving congestion in a town well known for gridlock. Work on the A26 junctions with Yew Tree Road and Speldhurst Road will start in January where the set up will be replaced with ‘intelligent’ traffic control systems.
It is hoped adjusting the signals will minimise the amount of time drivers spend stuck at a red light.
