The deal was announced last week, during the 170th Canterbury Cricket Week, with a pop-up outdoor bar for spectators during Kent’s match with Northamptonshire.
For the rest of the season, both still and sparkling Chapel Down wines will be sold in main bars and hospitality areas.
This follows an agreement earlier this year which made Chapel Down the ‘official sparkling wine’ for the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), offered to all winning teams on the podium.
‘We are committed to supporting the game at both a national and regional level’
This covers all Men’s International, Women’s International and Domestic Finals, with a worldwide audience of millions.
Chapel Down CEO, Andrew Carter, said: “Our brand home is in Kent and we are delighted to be partnering with Kent Cricket this summer. Not only is it one of England’s first-class county clubs, it is also at the centre of our county’s sporting community.
“We are committed to supporting the game at both a national and regional level.”
Calling the wine producer ‘an outstanding Kentish business’, Kent Cricket’s director of partnerships, Andy Griffiths, added: “Chapel already has a relationship with ECB, so it’s fantastic to see their commitment to supporting cricket at all levels of the game by becoming official partners of Kent Cricket.”
Chapel Down is England’s leading wine producer producing 1.5m bottles each year at its vineyard in Tenterden and across the Southeast.
