A local food producer has applied to open a free range egg farm in the village of Horsmonden. The new site would house more 60,000 hens to produce up to 400,000 eggs per week.
Local people fear there will be odours, increased traffic and the despoiling of a natural beauty spot.
These claims are strongly contested by the applicants, Cranbrook-based Fridays Ltd, while others in the area have argued that free range egg production has to be based somewhere.
