Christmas time means a busy social calendar – and a lot of outfit options to have at your fingertips. But what if you don’t necessarily have the budget to buy something new for every party or perhaps you want to be more environmentall- friendly and reduce the amount you spend on excess purchases?
Well thankfully there are easy solutions to these issues thanks to local stylist Victoria Genevieve who has recently launched a luxe clothing hire business.
Genevieve’s Wardrobe is a service that provides savvy shoppers with the opportunity to hire a gorgeous and uber-glamorous outfit for a special event at a fraction of what you would normally pay for such a piece. More importantly, it is also a clever sustainable alternative to buying something for a one-off occasion that you might never wear again.
“I have lots of beautiful designer pieces so it’s great to think they’ll get a new lease of life when they are hired,” smiles Victoria as she takes me through her rails of exquisite sequin dresses, cool jumpsuits, chic coats and luxurious accessories which she keeps in the personal styling suite at One Warwick Park Hotel which was launched earlier this year.
After achieving a BA Hons degree from the London College of Fashion in 2003, Victoria worked as a Luxury Fashion Buyer in the city before founding her Victoria Genevieve styling company.
She says the reason she launched it was to help women regain their confidence and to empower themselves through making the right sartorial choices.

But following two successful decades of personal styling, which has seen Victoria spend thousands of hours honing her expertise and knowledge of the industry, the mother of two spotted a gap in the market for a hire element to her business.
“Throughout my career I have always been conscious of the issue of sustainability and ethical fashion which is why I decided to launch Genevieve’s Wardrobe.
“Clients can come and browse an array of designer delights to rent or buy if they so wish. The service enables people to shop savvy throughout the ever-changing seasons and hire their dream clothes for occasions. It’s a win-win, given we’re in a cost-of-living crisis. It’s more purse friendly and also better for the planet as we are not creating additional waste.
“Who in this day and age wants to spend hundreds on an occasion dress – and be pictured in an outfit more than once!” she laughs.
Victoria goes on to say that Genevieve’s Wardobe also allows for the fashion-conscious consumer to discover new designers and styles under Victoria’s expert guidance.

Hire prices start from just £15 per day, making it affordable for almost every budget. And she is keen to stress that not one garment will be heading to landfill.
Victoria also hosts many pop-up events throughout the year, inviting clients to browse her selection of sartorial delights, try on their favourite pieces, take pictures of their chosen items and save for a later date to hire as and when they are needed.
