AN ‘INCREDIBLE’ 2017 for Childrensalon got even better when the company was named International Fashion Retailer of the Year.
Staff at the children’s clothing firm were excited to pick up the prize at the industry-leading Drapers Awards at London’s Roundhouse.
Childrensalon, one of the biggest employers in Tunbridge Wells, needed to show financial success in its operations outside of the UK to stand a chance of winning.
A company spokesman said: “We have successfully expanded overseas, boast a strong business strategy for international growth, and have a good understanding of the customer needs in the relevant markets.”
This latest success follows on from a string of awards this year.
In 2017, Childrensalon has already been named in the London Stock Exchange 1,000 companies to inspire Britain and 1,000 companies to Inspire Europe.
The company, which is based in Kingstanding Way and has an outlet store in High Street,
was also named by the Sunday Times in their HSBC International Fast Track 200. Celebration for company
Michele Harriman-Smith, Chief Executive of Childrensalon, was named Private Business
Woman of the Year at the UK Private Business Awards.
After the Drapers success, she said: “I would like to thank the amazing team at Childrensalon. “Without their hard work and dedication this incredible achievement would not be possible.”
Childrensalon primarily trades online, and last month launched an application for Apple
devices to make it easier for shoppers to buy clothes.
The firm also recently challenged Tunbridge Wells Borough Council over proposals to introduce a scheme to hand on-the-spot fines to people begging in the streets.
After their online petition was signed by 6,000 people, members of the firm met with council leaders and agreed to decide with other companies what best action to take to help homeless people in town.
