Trains heading in and out of Tonbridge were disrupted last week after a vehicle with an extendable ‘cherry picker’ on the top became wedged under a railway bridge in Priory Road.
Network Rail and the police were alerted around 6am last Wednesday after the driver misjudged the height of the bridge and the vehicle became stuck.
Specialist crews from the Kent Fire & Rescue Service were called to the scene to assess if there was any damage, and declared the bridge safe just before 9.30am.
