London shows for ArtSpring talent as gallery celebrates third birthday

The artist collective will unveil its ‘Summer Exhibition’ of painting, print, photography, ceramic, glass and jewellery at 167 High Street, along with cake and sparkling wine.

Visitors will be able to choose their favourite artwork, 3-D installation and jewellery piece to be entered into the ArtSpring ‘People’s Choice’ award.

Voting is open until July 13 and the winner will go on display in the window and be available at a 10 per cent discount until the end of the month.

The gallery’s printmaker Antonia Enthoven has recently seen her work selected for two major exhibitions in London: The Royal Society of British Artists annual exhibition at Mall Galleries until July 14; and the Royal Academy summer show until August 12.

Mark Welland also received an Exhibition Excellence Award for his drawings selected for Plantae: The Society of Botanical Artists exhibition at the Mall Galleries last month.

Hildegard Pax, chair of the gallery, has achieved international recognition and her latest creation in glass has been on show at an art fair in The Hamptons on Long Island, USA.

Artspring was one of five finalists in the recent Muddy Stiletto Awards for Best Art Gallery in Kent, and co-founder Jill Goldsworthy said: “This is great for an art collective and not-for-profit gallery to find itself amongst the county-wide finalists.”

ArtSpring is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30am to 5pm, but viewings can be arranged at other times; contact the gallery on 01732 365924 or visit artspringgallery.co.uk
