ANARCHY reigned supreme in Hildenborough at the end of last month as various cartoon villains descended on the Law and Disorder charity party.
Attracting more than 120 partygoers, the criminal celebration was put on in aid of the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance on Saturday July 29. The fancy dress events have been staged for the past 12 years and are hosted by local residents Paul and Tina Reeves, who allow their garden to be enjoyed by revellers.
Their son, Nick, had a near fatal road accident last year, and ‘if it wasn’t for the air ambulance team he wouldn’t be here’ explained organiser Teresa Seamer, who added: “My son, Keiron, also owes them a debt of gratitude after they saved his life approximately three years ago when he was hit by a car.
“And my husband, Ian, called them out several years ago when he saved a local fisherman from drowning. They are always there, they are truly incredible. “We always create a theme, and spend a great deal of time making the parties as special as we can. Everyone puts in such an effort with their costumes. It’s amazing.
“This year, the rain didn’t prevent everyone from having a great time and we’re delighted to say we raised £1,400.
“Previous themes have included Medieval Mayhem, Pirates of the Caribbean, Alien Invasion, Psychedelic Fantasy and Hollywood, and the parties always attract a large crowd. The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust provide emergency medical services through the provision of a helicopter.
Last year they spent £6.72million to run their service, and from November 2014 to October 2015, they aided 1,918 patients.
