MEMBERS of the British Legion and the Tonbridge Rifle and Pistol Club gathered together to try their hand at a spot of shooting last Friday [March 17].
The club, which is located between Hildenborough and Sevenoaks Weald, organised the event inviting Legion members past and present.
The evening featured shooters dressed up in World War One outfits as well as a number of historical weapons. Attendee Steve Mills, who served in the army for nine years until 1990, was able to inspect a Lewis Gun, which his grandfather used a century ago during the Great War.
His wife Pam Mills, who has written a book entitled Tonbridge Fallen WW1, said: “We enjoyed an evening of tea and cake and the chance to shoot in the range. We thank the club for this opportunity and a good night was had by all.”
