The event will be held on River Lawn, next to the Medway, to crown the ‘conkerer of all Tonbridge’. There will be adult and junior champions.
The event is part of the ‘conkers not concrete’ campaign to save the publicly owned area from being sold to private developers.
The area includes several mature horse chesnut trees, one of which will be felled to make way for the construction of the Tonbridge Medical Centre on the site of the old Teen and Twenty Club – but which has delivered a ‘bumper harvest’ this year.
A pop up tea room will serve refreshments, and supporters are asked to donate cakes.
Musical entertainment will be provided by singer songwriter Gez Gold and there will be craft and jewellery stalls.
